How does acupuncture work to relieve pain?

My back pain has been bothering me for ages, and someone suggested I try acupuncture. I'm a bit skeptical, honestly, but also open to new ideas if they work. How exactly does acupuncture help relieve pain and what's the science behind it?

It is said to stimulate the nerves to release natural pain-relieving chemicals in the body, which is great because it doesn't involve heavy medications. However, along with acupuncture, I always feel that eating a clean, alkaline diet is what truly helps heal inflammation from the inside.

They use very thin needles at specific points to help the flow of energy and reduce muscle stiffness. It works wonders for simple back aches, but if your pain is due to a fracture or something serious, please don't rely only on this and consult a proper orthopedist.

My neurologist explained that acupuncture triggers the nervous system to release endorphins, which are our body's natural painkillers. It also improves local blood circulation. He said it can be a good supportive therapy, but shouldn't replace standard medical treatment.

I got acupuncture done at a certified pain clinic at Apollo for my chronic sciatica. It definitely helped ease the muscle spasms, but before starting, I made sure my spine specialist gave me the green light. Please ask your main doctor clearly if it is safe for your specific condition.

For neuropathic pain, some people recommend this, but as a diabetic, I am very cautious about anyone putting needles in my skin due to infection risks. If you have high blood sugar, make sure your doctor agrees and the therapist uses strictly sterilized, single-use needles.

I used acupuncture for my lower back pain for six months. It doesn't work in one day; you need at least 5-6 sessions to feel any real change. Also, make sure you go to a registered practitioner, not some local clinic making big promises.

I just finished a course of acupuncture for my neck spasms last week. Honestly, the needles don't hurt at all, they just feel like a tiny mosquito bite, and they somehow release all the built-up tension in the muscles. My neck feels so much lighter now.
