How do you prove pain and suffering?

I've been dealing with chronic pain after an accident, and it's not just physical; it's mentally exhausting too. How do you explain or convey the full extent of this 'pain and suffering' to others, especially when they don't understand?

When you are in constant pain, keeping a daily diary of how it limits your movement and how many times you used heat packs or oils helps. This personal record, along with doctor's prescriptions, shows how much you have been suffering daily.

Keep every single bill from your MRI, X-rays, and physical therapy sessions because these costs add up and serve as concrete evidence. I planned my tests in government-approved labs to save money, but kept all official receipts to prove the severity of my condition.

Honestly, the dark circles under my eyes from sleeping only 3 hours a night should be proof enough! But seriously, getting a sleep study report or doctor's note about chronic insomnia caused by pain is a very solid way to show your suffering.

Don't waste time on vague statements. Immediately gather your hospital discharge summaries, specialist opinions, and therapy logs. Having an organized folder with clear dates will help your legal or insurance representative present your case efficiently.

Physical suffering often requires anti-inflammatory diet changes alongside medical help. Keeping a log of your dietary restrictions and weight changes caused by the pain can also serve as proof of how your quality of life was affected.

To prove this, you need a strong paper trail of medical records and psychiatric evaluations if it caused mental distress. Get a written statement from your physician describing how the injury affected your lifestyle. Soft claims don't work, only hard medical evidence does.
