How do you know if you had a tia stroke?

A few months ago, I had a sudden tingling on one side of my face and felt a little disoriented, but it only lasted for maybe 15 minutes. My neighbour told me it might have been a TIA. Is there a way to really tell if it was that or just stress?

If you had sudden face drooping or speech slip-ups, go to a good government hospital or charitable trust hospital immediately. Their emergency care is fast and won't burn a massive hole in your pocket. Keep emergency cash ready because they will surely ask for a brain scan to confirm.

My doctor told me that sudden numbness or trouble speaking is a clear sign, and it means we have to fix our lifestyle fast. I had to cut down on my daily butter naans and oily samosas after a health scare last year. Trust me, getting checked early is much better than regretting later.

A mini-stroke or TIA has the exact same symptoms as a regular stroke, but they disappear within a few minutes or hours. People often ignore it thinking it was just a temporary muscle catch. Please don't make that mistake and consult a specialist today itself.

Oh god, please don't sit and search more on the internet, it will only make you panic so much. If you had any sudden numbness or vision issues, please go to a clinic right away. I always get so scared reading about these things, sending you lots of strength.

I was actually reading up on this yesterday for my granddad. Apparently, the symptoms like sudden dizziness or hand weakness come out of nowhere and then just vanish. It is basically a warning sign that needs immediate medical evaluation. Hope everything is okay with you.

I had a TIA four years ago where my left side just felt completely dead for ten minutes. The most important thing is the FAST rule: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to call the doctor. Even if you feel 100% fine now, you must get an MRI done to prevent a major stroke.
