How do you know a heart attack is coming?

My father had a heart attack a few years ago, and I've been experiencing some odd chest discomfort and arm tingling lately. It makes me anxious. What are the early warning signs, and how do you know if a heart attack is coming?

When my heart attack happened, it wasn't a sudden pain; it started as heavy pressure in my chest like an elephant sitting on it, which then spread to my left arm and jaw. You also sweat profusely even in an AC room. If you feel this, do not wait, chewing an aspirin and reaching a hospital immediately is what saved my life.

Warning signs often include unusual shortness of breath during normal walking or light activities. While regular cardio is great for prevention, if you feel any pressure or pain during exercise, stop immediately. Always get a clear clearance from your doctor before resuming any fitness routine if you have these symptoms.

Let’s be extremely clear: chest tightness, radiating pain to the arm, neck, or back, and unexplained sweating are classic red flags. Do not waste time searching for symptoms online or blaming it on acidity. Call an ambulance or go straight to the nearest emergency room immediately.

My family cardiologist explained that heart attack signs can be subtle, especially in women, presenting as extreme fatigue, nausea, or indigestion-like discomfort rather than crushing pain. He emphasized that any new, unexplained discomfort from the jaw down to the navel during physical exertion should be evaluated with an ECG immediately.

Sudden breathlessness or chest pressure is very scary, ho na. We shouldn't ignore such things thinking it is just weakness or acidity. Please go to the doctor and get checked immediately, it is always better to be safe than sorry.

My father felt a strange burning sensation in his upper stomach and felt very dizzy right before his attack, which we initially mistook for gas. We rushed him to the clinic just in time. Since then, I never ignore any sudden cold sweats or breathing difficulties in the family.
