How do you get rid of excess skin after pregnancy?

My baby is 6 months old now, and while I'm so happy, I'm really struggling with the loose skin on my stomach. It makes me feel self-conscious. What can I do to get rid of this excess skin after pregnancy?

I completely understand how you feel, I had the same loose skin after my delivery. It takes around a year for the body to shrink back naturally, so please give yourself some grace. Focus on good moisturization and gentle abdominal exercises like pelvic tilts to slowly build your core strength.

Don't fall for those expensive belly wraps or firming creams advertised online; they are mostly useless marketing gimmicks. Real skin elasticity changes depend on genetics and how much the skin stretched. Better consult a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon to get realistic advice rather than wasting money.

I have been reading a lot of forums about post-pregnancy changes lately because my sister is expecting. It seems like building back the muscle underneath with strength training is what actually makes the skin look tighter over time. Is that true, or does it only work for some people?

Actually, yaar, we expect our bodies to bounce back instantly like those Bollywood moms, but that’s not real life. I just wore comfortable high-waisted pants to keep things tucked in and focused on eating clean. It took me almost two years to feel normal again, so take it easy.

Look, your body took nine months to grow a whole human, so it won't go back to normal in a few weeks. Stop stressing about loose skin and focus on eating nutritious food for your baby. Do light daily walking, and let nature do its work slowly.

Patience is key here. Focus on a high-protein diet to help with skin collagen, and start with light resistance training targeting the core muscles. Don't rush into heavy weights immediately; let your pelvic floor heal fully first before upgrading your workouts.
