How do you get liver fluke parasites?

My neighbour was recently diagnosed with some kind of liver parasite, a 'liver fluke', and it sounded quite serious. I'm wondering how exactly someone can get infected with these parasites. Is it from food, water, or something else?

You can get these parasites by eating raw or undercooked freshwater fish or water plants like watercress that grow in contaminated water. Even as vegetarians, we must be extremely careful to wash all raw vegetables and aquatic plants thoroughly before eating. Always cook your food properly to kill any hidden larvae.

Actually yaar, liver flukes enter your body when you eat raw freshwater fish or salads made with unwashed water plants. It's really gross because the parasite larvae settle in your liver and bile ducts. Just make sure your food is fully cooked, especially when you are traveling to places with open water bodies.

My cousin loves trying local fish dishes during trips, and she actually got a parasitic infection once from undercooked freshwater fish. It was quite scary but treatable with the right medicine from a doctor. Just be mindful of where you get your seafood from and ensure it is freshly prepared and hot.

To keep the gut clean, I always recommend drinking warm water with a bit of carom seeds or garlic. But a liver fluke infection is a serious parasitic issue that can damage your bile ducts and cannot be cured by home remedies alone. If you have severe stomach pain or jaundice, please see a doctor immediately for proper antiparasitic drugs.

I totally get it, dealing with any kind of parasite sounds incredibly unsettling and can make you feel very uneasy. But please don't worry, once diagnosed through a simple stool or blood test, doctors can easily treat it with standard medications. Just focus on eating clean, fully cooked food to keep yourself safe.

Bro, basically, if you eat raw or half-cooked freshwater fish, you are inviting these flukes into your system. They just travel from your gut straight to your liver. Just eat your fish properly fried or tandoori style, and you'll be perfectly fine. Simple as that.

Oh god, reading about liver parasites makes me so anxious about eating out! It is scary how a tiny larva in water or undercooked fish can get into your liver. If you have recently traveled and are feeling sick, please go get a stool test done to rule this out, just to keep your peace of mind.

I completely agree with the others. Eating raw or poorly cooked freshwater fish is the main culprit behind this infection, so always prioritize fully cooked meals.
