How do you feel after passing a kidney stone?

I just passed a kidney stone a couple of days ago, and let me tell you, the pain was something else! Now that it's out, I'm wondering what's normal to feel afterward. Are there any lingering pains, soreness, or general body sensations one should expect in the days following passing a kidney stone?

Honestly, the relief is absolute bliss, like a huge weight has been lifted from your lower back. My mother insisted I drink tender coconut water and barley water daily to flush things out, which really helped soothe the system. But we still visited our urologist to do a scan and ensure no other stones were hiding there.

Beta, once that stone passes, the terrible pain vanishes instantly, but your urinary path will still feel sore and burning for a few days. Drink plenty of warm water and you can have some fresh pumpkin juice, as it is very cooling for the body. But do not ignore the doctor's advice on diet to prevent them from forming again.

Hey, don't worry, the worst is officially behind you now. You might still feel a bit sore or notice a light burning sensation when you pee, which is completely normal as the passage heals. Just keep sipping water throughout the day, rest well today, and you will be back to your normal self very soon.

It is such a blessing when the physical pain finally leaves the body, bringing a deep sense of peace. You might feel physically drained from the intense pain, so rest your mind and body now. Drink pure water, eat light foods, and thank your body for its strength in passing it.

Bro, it literally felt like winning a war when that tiny stone finally came out. The sudden drop in pain is unreal, I almost cried tears of joy. I was super tired after all that cramping, so I just slept for like ten hours straight. Keep chugging water, guys!

The relief is massive and your energy levels will shoot back up quickly. Just remember that dehydration is the main culprit behind stones, especially if you sweat a lot during workouts. Make sure you are balancing your protein intake with enough fluids and leafy greens, and don't skip your doctor's follow-up.

I haven't slept properly in three days because of that stupid stone, but now that it's out, I feel like a functional human again. The pain is gone but my body feels completely exhausted, like I just ran a marathon while being beaten up. I am going to drink a gallon of water and sleep for the next two days.

Once the stone is out, the sharp colic pain stops immediately, which is a massive relief. My doctor explained that some mild hematuria (blood in urine) or dysuria (painful urination) can persist for 24-48 hours due to mucosal irritation. He advised me to keep drinking 3 liters of water daily and limit sodium intake to prevent recurrence.

The relief is incredible, but as a diabetic, I had to be very careful with what fluids I was drinking to flush it out. Avoid sweetened juices or packed coconut water, and stick to plain water or lime water without sugar. Make sure to get a follow-up scan done to ensure everything is completely clear.

Oh my god, the pain before passing it is so terrifying that even after it's gone, I was constantly anxious that another one was coming. I kept checking my urine and worrying about every minor back spasm. It helps to talk to your doctor to confirm it's fully out, just to put your mind at ease.

Even though you feel instantly better, please do not assume the entire issue is resolved. Sometimes multiple stones are present, or a fragment might still be left behind, which can cause blockages or infections later. It is highly recommended to get an ultrasound done to confirm your kidneys are fully clear.

You will feel an instant wave of relief and can finally focus back on your work without that nagging side pain. However, don't jump back into a hectic travel schedule immediately; your body needs a day to recover from the stress. Keep a water bottle on your desk and set hourly reminders to drink up.
