How do we sleep while our beds are burning?

Lately, I've been under a lot of stress with family issues and work deadlines. It feels like my mind is constantly racing even when I try to sleep. How do people manage to get proper sleep when there's so much worry and tension in their lives?

Haha, this is actually a famous song by Midnight Oil! But on a literal level, sleeping during extreme stress or heat is scientifically impossible because the body goes into fight-or-flight mode. Our brain needs a cool environment and a calm mind to trigger sleep hormones.

If you are using this metaphorically to describe severe insomnia or sleep disturbances due to extreme anxiety, you must address it medically. Please consult a sleep specialist at a reputed hospital. Clearly ask your doctor if you need a sleep study or cognitive behavioral therapy.

Whether it is a poetic way of asking about environmental crisis or managing severe, chaotic life stress that ruins your sleep, getting professional help is key. A clinical psychologist or sleep expert can help you navigate this. Trusting a doctor's advice is always the safest and most effective way to restore your sleep cycle.

Aww, if you are feeling like your life is on fire and you can't sleep, don't stress too much! Take a deep breath, keep your phone away, and try listening to some calming music. Everything eventually falls into place, so just focus on resting your mind for tonight.

I know things might feel incredibly chaotic or stressful right now, making sleep feel impossible. Just take it one hour at a time and focus on your breathing. If there is a real-life problem keeping you awake, we will figure it out tomorrow, but for now, try to close your eyes and rest.
