How do u know if you have skin cancer?

I work outside a lot in the sun, and lately, I've noticed a strange-looking spot on my hand that seems to be getting bigger. My wife is quite worried and thinks I should get it checked. What are the warning signs for skin cancer?

I spent the whole night googling a tiny red bump on my arm and now I am convinced I have 5 different diseases. Seriously, if you have a mole that's changing color or has weird borders, just go to a dermatologist instead of staying awake till 4 AM reading scary articles like me.

In our younger days, we spent so much time working in the fields under the hot sun. Most spots that appear are just normal aging and sun freckles, so don't get frightened. But yes, if any spot starts growing rapidly or bleeding, let a doctor have a look.

Please do not make the mistake I made by ignoring a funny-looking mole on my shoulder for a whole year. It turned out to be a skin issue that required quite a painful excision surgery. If you see any asymmetrical spot with ragged edges, get it checked immediately.

Since I have diabetes, my skin is already prone to slow healing and infections, so I have to be very careful. If you notice a dark patch or mole that is changing shape, itching, or not healing, don't ignore it. Get a dermatologist to examine it thoroughly.

My teenager had a strange, fast-growing pink bump on his arm last year, and we immediately rushed to the clinic because we were so worried. Thankfully, it was just a benign skin growth, but the dermatologist told us we did the right thing by checking. Always better to be safe and get a doctor's opinion.
