How do u know if you have kidney stones?

My cousin recently had kidney stones and he described the pain as unbearable. For the past few days, I've been having some sharp pain in my lower back, and it's making me wonder if I might be developing them too. What are the typical symptoms?

If you have kidney stones, you will feel a sharp, terrible pain in your lower back or side that comes in waves. Since I follow a strict veg diet, my doctor warned me to limit high-oxalate foods like spinach and tomatoes once the stone was diagnosed. But first, get an ultrasound done to be sure.

Don't ignore lower back pain thinking it is just muscle strain from long sitting hours at your office desk. If the pain radiates to your groin or you see pinkish urine, take a half-day off and get an ultrasound. It is a quick test and will save you from a major painful emergency later.

Look, if it is a kidney stone, the pain will make it impossible for you to sit or lie down peacefully. Don't waste time wondering or asking around on the internet. Just go to a doctor, get a scan, and drink plenty of water as they advise.

Actually, the simplest indicator is pain during urination or a constant urge to go, along with a dull ache in your back. Just go to any local diagnostic lab and get a USG Abdomen done for around 800-1000 rupees. Then show the report to a general physician for the next steps.

I have had kidney stones twice in my life, and yes, the pain can be very scary when it first hits you. But don't worry, with proper medication and drinking lots of water, most small stones pass out naturally. Just get a proper doctor's opinion and don't panic.

Actually yaar, the pain is so bad that you can't even sit straight or focus on work. If you are feeling a sharp ache near your lower ribs and your urine is super dark, go get a checkup. Don't wait for it to become unbearable, just see a doc.

Did anyone else feel a weird radiating pain that went all the way from the back to the lower abdomen? I have been feeling this since yesterday and I am super worried if it's a stone or something worse. Should I get a scan done tomorrow?

Man, when I had that sudden, sharp pain in my side, I thought my love for spicy street food had finally destroyed my stomach! Turns out it was a 5mm kidney stone. Now I have to drink gallons of boring plain water instead of my usual sweet lassis and cold drinks to flush it out.

Over the years, I have seen many people in my family suffer from this during hot summers due to dehydration. A sharp, unbearable pain in your side or back that spreads to the front is the classic sign. Drink enough water daily, but for now, get an ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis.

My urologist explained that kidney stone pain happens when the stone moves into the ureter, causing a spasm. He told me to watch out for symptoms like nausea, fever with chills, and blood in the urine, which are clear red flags. An ultrasound and urine routine test are the standard ways to confirm.

To keep the kidneys healthy, practicing regular deep breathing and gentle twists like Ardha Matsyendrasana helps improve blood flow. But if a stone has already formed and is causing sharp pain, one must respect the body's limits and seek medical treatment from a doctor.

I literally just recovered from a 6mm stone last month. The pain was like a knife twisting in my lower back, and I felt nauseous too. My doctor gave me some medicine to relax the urinary tract, and it finally came out; please get a USG done to see the exact stone size.

Drinking barley water and tender coconut water is very good to clear small deposits in the urinary tract. However, if your pain is unbearable, or if you have vomiting and fever, please do not rely on these home tips. Go to a hospital immediately for proper treatment.

When I felt that sharp pain in my side, I thought my kidney was failing and rushed to the ER in absolute panic. It turned out to be a tiny 4mm stone that passed on its own in three days with just extra water intake. So relax, it is extremely common and very manageable!

I am experiencing a slight pain on the right side of my lower back that comes and goes. Is this how kidney stone pain starts, or is it always very sudden and severe? I am a bit scared to go to the doctor alone.
