How do u get cavities?

I recently had a dental check-up, and my dentist mentioned I have a small cavity. I thought I brushed well, so I'm confused about how one actually gets cavities. What exactly causes them?

Agree with brushing twice daily. Cavities happen when food sits on your teeth and turns into acid.

It is very simple—if you eat sticky sweets or biscuits and don't gargle with water immediately, bacteria will grow and rot your teeth. Make a strict rule for your children to rinse their mouth after every single meal. No need for expensive treatments if you just maintain this simple habit.

Cavities form when bacteria in the mouth feed on sugars from our food and produce acids that erode the tooth enamel. Even healthy vegetarian snacks like dried fruits, dates, or juices can cause decay if they stick to your teeth. Stick to fresh raw vegetables like carrots to help clean teeth naturally.

When sugary food sticks to your teeth, plaque bacteria produce acid that creates tiny holes! 🦷 Just brush twice a day and use dental floss to keep those cavities away! 😊

I totally get it, tooth pain from cavities can be absolutely miserable and makes it so hard to eat. They happen when plaque buildup slowly wears down the protective outer layer of your teeth. Don't worry, a quick visit to the dentist for a simple filling will resolve it completely.

Basically, if you feed the bacteria in your mouth sweet chocolates, they repay you by drilling holes in your teeth. Think of them as tiny uninvited tenants doing construction work in your mouth. Just brush them out before they start demolition!

If left untreated, a simple cavity can penetrate deep into the tooth pulp, causing a severe infection or abscess that requires a root canal. If you have hot or cold sensitivity, do not try home remedies or pain sprays. Please consult a qualified dentist immediately for an X-ray.
