How do people get liver flukes?

I saw a documentary about some strange parasites, and one of them was called a 'liver fluke'. It sounded very disturbing. How do people typically get liver flukes? Is it common in India?

These physical ailments often come when we accidentally consume unclean water or raw plants from infected water bodies. Do not lose your peace of mind over this; modern treatments can easily clear these parasites from your system. Take care of your health, eat clean, and stay positive.

Liver flukes are parasites that people usually get by eating raw, unwashed watercress or contaminated freshwater fish. In our times, we always boiled our drinking water and thoroughly cooked all vegetables to stay safe from such worms. Please consult a doctor immediately for proper deworming medicine if you suspect this.

Even vegetarians can get liver flukes if they eat raw aquatic plants like water chestnuts or watercress harvested from contaminated waters. Always wash your green leafy vegetables and water plants in clean running water or vinegar before eating them raw. Better yet, steam or cook them well to kill any potential parasites.

I always try to be extremely careful with raw foods because my body's immunity is already busy managing my PCOS. Liver flukes come from eating raw water plants or undercooked freshwater fish containing the parasite larvae. It is a specific infection, so please get a proper stool or blood test done rather than guessing.

Oh god, reading about parasites in the liver makes me so anxious about eating out! It usually spreads through raw water vegetables and undercooked freshwater fish in infected areas. If you are feeling unexplained stomach pain, fever, or nausea, please go see a doctor soon so they can test you properly.
