How do people get fever blisters?

Every few months, I get these painful 'fever blisters' around my mouth, especially when I'm stressed or run down. It's really annoying and makes me self-conscious. How do people usually get these, and why do they keep coming back?

Beta, these usually happen when we have a fever or when our body gets too much heat from inside. In our village, we call them mouth blisters, and they often come when digestion is bad or when we are very tired. Just drink cold milk and keep your stomach cool, they go away in a few days.

I suddenly got a small painful bump near my lip today and I am a bit scared to go out. Is this the same as a cold sore, and can it spread to other parts of the face if I touch it? If anyone knows a safe cream to apply, please let me know.

Ah, those annoying little uninvited guests that always appear right before a family wedding! They are caused by a virus that just lies asleep in our body and wakes up whenever we are stressed or exhausted. My doctor told me to just apply a soothing gel and wait it out, as complaining doesn't make them leave any faster.

These blisters, also known as cold sores, usually flare up when your immune system drops due to high stress, overtraining, or poor nutrition. Focus on getting enough sleep, eat lysine-rich foods like dairy or fish, and avoid too much sun exposure without lip balm. Keeping your body strong is the best defense.

The first time I got a fever blister, I thought it was some terrible permanent skin infection and panicked completely. But my doctor reassured me that almost everyone carries the herpes simplex virus that causes this, and it is totally normal. It usually heals up on its own in a week or two, so don't worry.

I get so anxious whenever I feel that tingling sensation on my lip because I know a blister is coming. They are highly contagious when active, so make sure you don't share towels, cups, or spoons with anyone at home. I hope yours heals very quickly, just try not to pick at it!
