How do people get diabetes?

My mother has diabetes, and I'm always worried about getting it too, especially as I'm getting older. Is it purely genetic, or are there specific lifestyle factors that cause it? I want to know how people get diabetes so I can be careful.

Honestly, sitting in front of a laptop for 10 hours and ordering fast food because we are busy is how most of us invite Type 2 diabetes. Our bodies just stop processing insulin properly when we have zero physical activity and high stress. If you have no time, at least start taking 15-minute walks post meals and get your HbA1c tested yearly.

Sometimes our bodies react to the heavy burdens and stress we carry in our minds, leading to imbalances like diabetes. While genetics and food are physical causes, keeping a calm mind and accepting your body's needs with love helps a lot. Take care of your health, eat simple food, and stay positive.

There are different types, like Type 1 which is autoimmune, and Type 2 which is mostly lifestyle-related. When my father was diagnosed, we went to a proper endocrinologist at a reputed hospital who explained how insulin resistance works. Instead of guessing or reading online, it is best to ask a specialist to explain your specific blood reports.

Diabetes often comes when there is a lack of movement and poor circulation to our digestive organs, causing the pancreas to become sluggish. In my experience, daily practice of Mandukasana and regular deep breathing helps manage blood glucose levels wonderfully. It keeps the mind stress-free, which is crucial for managing hormones.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Yes, it can happen due to family history or if we eat too many sweets and skip the gym, but it is totally manageable these days. Just make small changes like swapping white rice for brown sometimes and keeping yourself active. You've got this, chill!
