How do people get cavities?

My little one just got her first cavity, and I'm quite upset because I thought we were careful with her teeth. I really want to understand the process better. How exactly do people, especially kids, get cavities despite brushing regularly?

Listen, if you keep eating sweets and don't brush your teeth before sleeping, bacteria will build up and make holes in your teeth. Stop skipping the night brush and rinse your mouth after every meal. It is as simple as that.

Cavities happen when sweet foods leave sugar on your teeth, and bacteria turn it into acid! 🦷 Just make sure to brush twice a day and use a good mouthwash to keep your smile bright and healthy!

I used to feel so ashamed of my cavities, thinking people would judge my hygiene. But sometimes it is just genetics and dry mouth, not just eating sweets. Please don't feel bad, just visit a dentist and get them filled before the pain starts.

I know how stressful it is to feel tooth sensitivity and worry about expensive dental treatments. Cavities form slowly when plaque acids wear down your tooth enamel. Getting a simple dental checkup early will save you a lot of worry and pain.

I had three root canals because I ignored my cavities for years. They happen when plaque buildup is left untreated, destroying the tooth layers. My advice is to get a dental cleaning every six months and use dental floss daily; it makes a huge difference.

They develop when bacteria in your mouth feed on sugary foods and produce acids that eat away at your enamel. Make sure you use a fluoride toothpaste and avoid sticky candies. If a cavity has already formed, only a dentist can fix it with a filling.

It usually happens when food particles stay stuck in the teeth for too long and cause decay. Don't worry, it is very common and easily treated by a dentist. Just try to rinse your mouth with warm water after eating.
