How do people get arthritis?

Lately, my knees and fingers feel stiff, especially in the mornings. My father also had arthritis, so I'm worried. Can someone explain how people generally get arthritis? Is it always genetic, or are there other causes?

Arthritis can be caused by the natural wear and tear of cartilage, or it can be an autoimmune issue like rheumatoid arthritis. Since there are many types, you should never self-diagnose your joint pain. Please consult a rheumatologist to get the correct tests and treatment plan.

Factors like aging, genetic history, joint injuries, and even sitting in wrong postures for long hours at work can lead to it. If you are starting to feel stiffness in your knees or fingers, don't ignore it to save time. Book a quick consultation to catch it early.

I totally get it, seeing your joints stiffen up or watching a family member struggle with joint pain is so heartbreaking. It often develops due to aging or sometimes when the body's immunity starts attacking the joints. Please take care, and try using warm water bags for some gentle relief.

Many people don't know that even young children can get a form of it called juvenile arthritis, which is autoimmune. When my daughter was diagnosed, we had to focus on gentle physiotherapy and regular medical checkups. Keep an eye on any joint swelling or morning stiffness in your family.

It usually happens due to aging, joint wear and tear, or genetics. If you have chronic joint pain, please see an orthopedic doctor.

As we grow older, the natural cushion in our joints rubs away, leading to pain and swelling. To manage this practically, try doing very light walks, avoid sitting on the floor, and keep your weight in check. It helps reduce the pressure on your knees significantly.
