How do kidney stones feel?

My relative got diagnosed with kidney stones, and I've been having some discomfort in my side lately. I'm trying to figure out if it's similar. How do kidney stones feel when you have them?

It is this sharp, stabbing pain in the side of your back that comes in waves and makes you feel like something is tearing inside. I kept worrying it was a ruptured appendix or something worse because the pain is so sudden and intense. Please don't panic, but do get a doctor to check it right away.

Bro, it literally feels like someone is stabbing you in the lower back with a hot knife and twisting it. The pain moves down towards your groin and you can't even sit or stand in one position. It is honestly the worst pain I have ever felt.

The pain is a severe, radiating spasm in your side and back that doesn't let you rest. Since we have to manage our fluid and diet strictly for diabetes, make sure to drink plain water instead of sweet juices or packaged drinks to help flush it out safely.

It feels like a severe, gripping pain in the lower back that makes it hard to breathe easily. Drinking warm water with lemon or consuming horse gram soup can help soothe the urinary path and help small stones slide down, but do show a doctor if the pain is unbearable.

It feels like a sharp, cramping pain in the flank area that often triggers nausea and vomiting because of shared nerve pathways. If you feel this along with a burning sensation during urination, it is a classic sign of a stone passing. Keep a painkiller prescribed by your doctor handy.

I have had stones twice in my life, and while the pain is indeed very severe and can make you break into a sweat, it passes once the stone moves. Modern medicine has excellent muscle relaxers that calm the pain within minutes. Don't worry, it is highly treatable and you will be fine.

I completely understand how terrifying that sudden, agonizing pain in your side can be; it literally makes you feel like your body is failing. Please know that your fear is very natural because kidney stone pain is famously intense. Just take deep breaths and let the hospital staff help you manage it.
