How do i know if i have valley fever?

Since returning from a work trip to the US, I've had a persistent cough and fever that just won't go away, even with antibiotics. A colleague there mentioned something called 'Valley Fever,' and now I'm concerned if my symptoms match that.

Hey, don't stress too much about Valley Fever unless you have recently traveled to very dry, dusty desert areas like the US southwest or specific dry regions. It is basically a fungal infection from breathing in dust. If you have a dry cough and fever, it's probably just a normal seasonal bug, but check with a doctor to be sure.

At our age, every new fever feels like some exotic disease we read about on the internet! But honestly, unless you have been inhaling desert dust recently, it is probably just the usual pollution-induced cough. Just see a doctor, get some basic tests, and save yourself the headache of worrying.

A healthy respiratory system can resist many environmental dust issues, but if a fungal infection like this settles in, it causes deep fatigue, joint pain, and a dry cough. While pranayama helps strengthen the lungs, you must seek medical attention for proper antifungal treatment if diagnosed. Do consult a physician.

Valley fever, or coccidioidomycosis, is quite rare in India and is typically contracted in highly arid regions with specific soil fungi. Symptoms like fever, cough, and fatigue can easily mimic tuberculosis or common viral pneumonia. A proper diagnosis requires blood tests or fungal cultures, so consulting an infectious disease specialist is highly recommended.

If you have a persistent fever, chest pain, and a cough that doesn't go away with standard antibiotics, please get it checked by a specialist. Since it is a fungal issue, normal cold medicines won't work and ignoring it can lead to complications. Better to be safe and get a proper lung scan or blood test.

Managing my high BP has taught me that we shouldn't ignore any long-term fatigue or breathing trouble. If you are feeling unusually tired along with flu-like symptoms after visiting dusty areas, it is best to get a complete health checkup. Don't let these things linger without a doctor's consultation.
