How do i know if i have a migraine?

I get these really bad headaches that are sometimes accompanied by sensitivity to light and sound, and I feel nauseous. My sister says it sounds like a migraine. How do I know if what I'm experiencing is actually a migraine and not just a severe headache?

A migraine isn't just a regular headache; it usually affects one side of your head and comes with a throbbing sensation. You might also feel nauseous or extremely sensitive to bright lights and loud sounds. If this keeps happening, it is best to consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis.

Whenever my sister gets a migraine, she has to sit in a completely dark room because even a little light hurts her eyes. She also gets a very bad headache on just one side. If you feel like this, please visit a doctor in town and get some medicine.

I have seen many people mistake sinus headaches for migraines. True migraines often have a pulsing pain, and can be triggered by stress, certain foods, or sleep changes. Keep a headache diary to note when it happens, and share those details with your physician.

I actually track my headaches on a health app, and it helped me realize my migraines are triggered by screen glare and dehydration. If your app shows a pattern of one-sided throbbing pain with nausea, you should show the data to a doctor for a proper plan.

My doctor told me that light cardiovascular exercise like walking can sometimes help reduce migraine frequency by releasing endorphins. But during an actual severe attack, you should just rest in a dark room. Definitely consult a physician to get cleared before starting any routine.

If a headache is so bad that you can't focus on work and feel like vomiting, it is likely a migraine. Try applying a cold pack to your forehead and resting in a quiet room with the fan on. Don't keep popping random painkillers; see a general physician once.

If you feel like someone is hammering a nail into one side of your brain while you stare at your phone, congratulations, it is probably a migraine! Honestly, just turn off your screen, skip the late-night scrolling, and see a doctor if this is your regular routine.
