How do i get rid of earache pain?

Since last night, I've been having a sharp pain in my ear, and it's making it hard to sleep. I've tried a warm compress, but it's not helping much. What can I do at home to get some relief from this earache pain?

I completely agree that earaches are incredibly painful and hard to ignore. Applying a warm compress gently against your ear for 10 minutes can offer some temporary relief until you can see a doctor.

In our younger days, we would use a warm compress or a drop of lukewarm mustard oil around the outer ear, never inside. But you must be very careful with the ears, beta. If the pain is sharp or you have any fluid discharge, do not put anything inside and visit an ENT specialist immediately.

Don't mess around with ear pain or try random online drops. Ear infections can escalate quickly and damage your hearing. Just book an appointment with a proper ENT doctor today and get it checked professionally.

Please don't ignore this or hope it goes away on its own like I did. I delayed going to the doctor for a mild earache, and it turned into a major eardrum infection that took weeks to heal. Save yourself the trouble and get an ENT specialist to check it right away.

I had a severe earache last year and I was crying from the intense throbbing pain, it was so exhausting. I completely feel your pain right now. Please don't suffer silently, just go to a doctor who can give you proper pain-relief drops.

My son gets these earaches whenever he has a bad cold. I usually give him a warm water bottle wrapped in a cloth to rest his ear on, which really helps soothe the throbbing. But we always visit our pediatrician to check for any middle ear infection before starting any drops.
