How do doctors check for prostate cancer?

My father's friend was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer during a routine checkup. I'm also getting older, so I'm wondering what exactly doctors do to check for this condition. Is it part of a regular health check?

My dad had to get this checked recently. It is actually pretty straightforward; they start with a simple PSA blood test and a physical rectal exam. It is not as bad or scary as it sounds, so just get it done if the doctor advises.

In our clinical practice, we always start with a PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood test. Depending on those levels, the urologist might also do a physical exam or recommend an MRI. It is a very routine screening for men above 50, so nothing to worry about.

When my father had some urinary issues, we went to a specialist hospital. They clearly explained that a PSA blood test is the first step, followed by an ultrasound or MRI if needed. It is best to ask your urologist directly to explain the exact steps for your case.

They usually start with a simple blood test called PSA to check the levels. It is a very routine checkup and the doctors will guide you calmly through the next steps.

Veerji, do not delay this out of hesitation. Doctors do a quick blood test called PSA, and sometimes a physical check to see if there is any swelling. It gets over in a few minutes and gives you complete peace of mind, so go for it.

Hey there! The checkup is actually very simple and starts with a quick blood test called PSA. No need to stress at all, just book a routine appointment and get it cleared up. Cheers!

While eating a clean diet rich in tomatoes and green tea supports prostate health, it cannot replace medical screening. Doctors use a PSA blood test and physical exams to check for any issues. Please get a proper clinical evaluation rather than relying only on dietary changes.

I went through this entire diagnostic process last year. After my PSA blood test showed slightly high levels, they did an MRI and a biopsy to confirm everything. Getting it detected early made all the difference in my recovery, so please get checked.
