How do doctors check for diabetes?

My father has diabetes, and I've been feeling very thirsty lately, plus some weakness. I want to get checked myself. But I'm curious what steps the doctor takes to confirm if someone actually has diabetes.

It is just a simple fasting and post-meal blood test, along with an HbA1c test. Very easy and quick.

Hey, don't worry at all, checking for diabetes is extremely straightforward. They will just ask you to do a fasting blood test in the morning, and then another test two hours after eating. It is a routine thing and helps you manage your health much better, so just get it done.

Haan, bilkul simple blood test hota hai, tension mat lo. Ek toh fasting wala check karte hain aur dusra HbA1c jisse 3 mahine ka average pata chalta hai. Ek baar lab jaake sample de aao, sab clear ho jayega na.

Honestly, I was so scared of needles when my doc ordered a diabetes test. But it is literally just a quick prick for a fasting blood test and an HbA1c. Took like two minutes and the reports came on WhatsApp the same evening.

I completely understand how anxious you might be feeling right now, I used to overthink every symptom. But checking sugar is very simple and routine. Once you get the blood test done, the clarity actually reduces all that heavy anxiety.

In our family, we use bitter gourd juice and methi seeds to keep our health good, but a proper medical test is a must. The doctor will ask for a fast of 8 to 10 hours before taking your blood sample. Please do not rely only on home tips, getting the lab reports is very important.
