How diabetes was treated before insulin was discovered?

My grandmother always tells stories about how serious diabetes was when she was young, before insulin became widely available. I'm really curious about medical history. How was diabetes treated before insulin was discovered?

Before insulin was found in the 1920s, children with type 1 diabetes were kept on extremely strict, near-starvation diets to keep their sugars low. It was heartbreaking because they couldn't survive very long back then. Thank god we have modern medical insulin today to keep our kids healthy and active.

Centuries ago, people used bitter herbs like karela and jamun seeds to manage mild symptoms of high sugar, but severe diabetes was impossible to cure. While these home foods are good for supporting your health today, they can never replace insulin or modern medicines. Always follow your doctor's prescriptions.

Back in those days, doctors used very harsh fasting regimens because they had no other option, but it was not a real cure. Today, we have excellent testing and treatment options. If you suspect any sugar issues, please get a fasting blood test and HbA1c done immediately instead of trying historical diets.

S सीधी बात hai, pehle koi proper treatment nahi tha, log bas bhookhe rehte the sugar control karne ke liye jo bilkul sahi nahi tha. Insulin aane ke baad hi dhang se life bachni shuru hui. Toh purane tariko ke peeche mat bhago aur modern medical science par hi bharosa rakho.

Pehle ke zamane me log bas parhez karte the aur meetha bilkul band kar dete the, par phir bhi log bachte nahi the kyunki dawai nahi thi. Ab toh humare paas acchi suvidhaayein hain. Apne doctor ki salah se sahi dawai aur parhez dono chalne dijiye.
