How common is vomiting with covid?

Someone in my family just tested positive for COVID, and they're having a lot of vomiting along with fever. I thought cough and cold were more typical, so I'm curious if vomiting is also a common symptom for COVID these days.

It was quite common in some waves, especially with gastrointestinal symptoms. I had severe vomiting which led to acute dehydration and I had to be admitted for IV fluids. Please don't ignore it if you can't keep any liquids down; contact a hospital immediately.

It is common enough that many people experience nausea. Ginger tea or sucking on a piece of lemon can help reduce that vomiting feeling. However, if you are continuously vomiting and can't even swallow medicines, please see a doctor immediately.

Don't worry, tummy issues like vomiting are actually quite common with viral infections like Covid. Just focus on resting and drinking small sips of warm water or electoral powder. If it doesn't stop in a day, just consult your doctor calmly.

I have been throwing up since morning and tested positive today. Is it really that common? I am feeling so weak and worried that something else is wrong with my stomach.

Actually yaar, during the second wave, so many of my friends had bad stomach issues and vomiting instead of just a cough. It is pretty common but people only talk about the lung symptoms. Keep sipping ORS so you don't get dehydrated, seriously.

It is fairly common because the virus can affect your digestive tract. When I had it, I kept my diet super light with only khichdi. Once the vomiting stopped and my doctor allowed, I started doing light stretching at home to get my energy back.
