How common is psoriatic arthritis?

My mother has had psoriasis for many years, and lately she's been complaining of a lot of joint pain and stiffness. We're worried if it could be psoriatic arthritis. Is it a common complication for people with psoriasis?

Please don't take joint pain lightly if you have psoriasis. I ignored my joint stiffness for months, and it led to severe pain and joint damage that made walking difficult. Psoriatic arthritis affects about 30% of people with psoriasis, so please consult a rheumatologist immediately if you feel any stiffness.

It is fairly common among those who already have skin psoriasis. To ease the joint stiffness, gentle hot water fermentation or applying warm mustard oil with garlic helps a lot. However, please consult a specialist doctor for proper medical management, as joint issues need expert care.

I totally get it, dealing with both skin flare-ups and joint pain must be so exhausting. It is more common than people think, especially in those who have had skin psoriasis for years. Just hang in there, finding the right specialist can make a massive difference in how you feel.

At this age, every joint seems to have its own mood swings, but psoriatic arthritis is a specific one that affects people with skin issues. It is quite common, so you aren't the only one creaking around! Better to get a doctor to sort it out before every finger starts protesting.

It is quite common, affecting up to 1 in 3 people who have psoriasis. I always tell people that keeping your joints moving with low-impact exercises like swimming and eating anti-inflammatory foods can help manage the stiffness. Just make sure to get a doctor's okay before starting any new routine.
