My cousin who lives in the US was just diagnosed with PCOS, and she was really upset. We were talking about how common it is. I was wondering, how common is PCOS in the US for women like us?

PCOS is actually very common, affecting about 1 in 10 women of childbearing age in the US. Just like my thyroid issues, getting regular hormone tests and seeing an endocrinologist is the best way to manage it.

I read that almost half of the women with PCOS in the US go undiagnosed. It makes me so anxious wondering if my irregular periods are due to this; did anyone else feel worried before getting tested?

I absolutely lost my mind when I was first diagnosed with PCOS, thinking it was a rare, scary disease. It is incredibly common both there and in India, and once you figure out the right lifestyle, it becomes totally manageable.

It affects millions of women in the US, so you are definitely not alone in this. I overthink my symptoms all the time, but knowing how common it is helps me realize there is plenty of medical support available.

While researching health trends, I found that PCOS is one of the leading causes of female infertility in the US. It's a huge topic there, with lots of awareness groups and excellent doctor networks to help out.

Almost all my college roommates who went to the US for studies have been talking about PCOS. It's super common there now, and most girls manage it easily with a balanced diet and regular gym sessions.
