How common is lung cancer?

My neighbour, who was a lifelong smoker, was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, which was very sad to hear. It made me think about my own health and the air quality here. How common is lung cancer in India these days?

It is one of the most common cancers worldwide. If you have a persistent cough that doesn't go away in three weeks, or any chest discomfort, please get a proper chest X-ray done immediately.

It is unfortunately quite prevalent, but focusing on lung capacity through cardiorespiratory exercises like brisk walking or jogging can help overall health. Just ensure the air quality is good when you run outside.

It is fairly common, and early screening can be life-saving. A basic chest X-ray costs only 300-500 rupees in local labs, which is very affordable to get done if you have chronic symptoms.

Though it is common, doing daily pranayama like Kapalbhati and Anulom Vilom helps strengthen the lungs and detoxify our system. Of course, regular checkups should never be avoided if symptoms persist.
