How common is breast cancer in men?

My sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and it made me think about my own family history. I know it's mainly a women's disease, but I've heard men can get it too. How common is breast cancer in men?

While it is a very rare condition in men, it is still something we should know about. If you or a male family member notice any hard lump, nipple retraction, or discharge, please consult a doctor immediately. Early checkups are the best way to protect our loved ones.

I was actually researching this after watching a documentary. It turns out breast cancer in men is extremely rare, accounting for less than 1% of all breast cancer cases. Most people don't even know men can get it, but it's good to be aware that we do have some breast tissue.

I read about this online and immediately forced my dad to check for lumps! Honestly, it is incredibly rare in men, but my anxiety always makes me think of the worst-case scenarios. If there is a real concern, just see a doctor for a quick scan to put your mind at ease.

Hey, don't stress too much about this. It is super rare for guys to get breast cancer, so the chances are incredibly low. If you're feeling worried about a weird bump, just get a quick doctor's opinion so you can stop overthinking it!

It is highly uncommon, but because of my family's history with late cancer diagnoses, I always urge caution. Men often delay seeking help for breast lumps because of embarrassment or thinking it's impossible. Please go to a surgical oncologist if you notice any unusual changes; do not wait.
