How common is breast cancer?

My annual health check-up is coming up, and I'm reviewing general health concerns. Breast cancer is something all women worry about, especially as we get older. How common is breast cancer in India across all age groups?

I totally get it, even hearing the words 'breast cancer' can make you feel extremely anxious and scared. It is actually the most common cancer in Indian women, which is why we hear about it so much. But please remember, early detection makes it highly curable, so regular self-exams are so important.

Eating a balanced diet and exercising are great for overall health, but they cannot replace proper screening for breast cancer. Since it is one of the more common cancers, you should always consult a doctor if you feel any lump or change. Don't rely on home tips to make it disappear.

When my mother went for her routine checkup at Apollo, the oncologist explained that breast cancer is very common now. He clearly said that women over 40 should get a mammogram done once a year. Please consult a breast specialist and get a clear screening schedule rather than guessing.

Hey, don't stress too much! While it is a common condition, finding a lump doesn't automatically mean cancer, as most of them turn out to be harmless cysts. Just get a quick scan done to be 100% sure, and don't worry yourself sick over it.

Look, breast cancer is indeed common in India, so we shouldn't take it lightly or ignore it. If there is any lump, skin changes, or nipple discharge, go to a lady doctor immediately. Early treatment is very successful, so don't delay out of shyness.

I found a tiny, hard spot during my monthly self-exam and I have been so worried ever since. Has anyone else experienced a scare like this and had it turn out to be completely normal? I am booking a doctor's appointment but honestly my anxiety is through the roof.

I literally spend hours reading about this and get so paranoid over every little chest ache or pain. Breast cancer is common, yes, but pain is rarely the first symptom of it. I'm trying to learn to trust my regular doctor checkups instead of Google, and you should too!

Haan, ye aajkal kafi common ho gaya hai na, isiliye sab jagah iski awareness ki baat hoti hai. My sister had a scare last year but thank god it was just a benign fibroadenoma. Apne doctor se milo aur simple ultrasound ya mammogram kara lo, darr bilkul khatam ho jayega.
