How can you tell if your liver is going bad?

I've been feeling generally unwell, a bit nauseous, and my skin has a slightly yellowish tint. My wife thinks it could be my liver, and I'm wondering what specific signs suggest a liver problem.

In my case, I started getting a strange pain in the upper right side of my abdomen and my urine turned very dark yellow. I also lost my appetite completely and felt extremely weak. I didn't want to take any chances, so I immediately went to a local clinic to get my liver enzymes checked.

Having recovered from fatty liver grade 2, I can tell you that persistent fatigue and bloating are early warning signs. You might also notice yellowing of your skin and eyes if it has progressed. My practical tip is to get an ultrasound abdomen and LFT test done yearly, and cut down on oily food completely.

A malfunctioning liver can manifest as unexplained swelling in the legs, easy bruising, or persistent abdominal discomfort. Because the liver has a high capacity to regenerate, symptoms might only appear when the damage is significant. Therefore, getting an expert medical evaluation and standard blood tests is the safest route.

Bro, my liver enzymes went way up last year because of bad lifestyle habits. I had terrible nausea every morning and my skin was itching like crazy. If you are noticing dark urine and pale stools, stop chilling and go get a liver function blood test done immediately.

At Apollo Hospital, the gastroenterologist told us that liver damage can be quite silent until it reaches an advanced stage. He advised that yellow jaundice, swelling in the belly, and mental confusion are advanced signs that need urgent medical attention.
