How can you tell if you have piles?

For a while now, I've been feeling some discomfort, especially during bowel movements. My neighbour was just talking about his piles issue, and now I'm worried if my symptoms are similar.

I totally get it, talking about this can feel very embarrassing and stressful. Usually, you might notice bright red blood in the toilet or feel a sharp pain and burning sensation when you try to pass stool. Please don't be shy about this, it is a very common issue and can happen to anyone.

You will feel a physical lump or swelling near the anal region, which makes sitting down very uncomfortable. Along with high fiber foods, my doctor suggested doing light walks to keep the bowel movements smooth. Avoid heavy weight lifting for some time if you are facing this issue.

If sitting on a normal office chair feels like you are sitting on a bed of needles, it is time to doubt piles! In all seriousness, if you see blood while wiping, don't ignore it. It is not the end of the world, just go to a doc and get a simple checkup done.

Beta, if there is pain during toilet time and you feel some extra skin or hard mass down there, it might be bawasir. Eat lots of green vegetables and drink plenty of water daily to keep your stomach clear. Do not feel ashamed and tell your doctor openly about it.

If you feel a constant itching and a feeling that your bowels aren't completely empty, it could be piles. I tried sitz baths with warm water twice a day and it gave me immense relief from the swelling. But if there is active bleeding, please visit a surgeon immediately instead of relying only on home treatments.

With my hormonal issues, chronic constipation is a major struggle, which actually led to mild piles for me. You will know it if you feel a dull ache after sitting for too long or spot some fresh blood. It is best to consult a doctor to get an accurate diagnosis because other conditions can also cause similar symptoms.
