How can you tell if you have malaria?

Since last week, I've had a recurring fever and body ache, and everyone is saying it might be malaria given the season. What are the typical symptoms, especially early on, so I can know if I should really get tested?

Haan, malaria ka fever toh alag hi hota hai, bilkul thand lag ke aata hai. If you are shivering like crazy even under two blankets, toh samajh lo test karwana padega. Shuruat mein normal viral lagta hai but don't take it lightly na.

I totally get it, that sudden shivering and high fever can be extremely scary and exhausting. It drains your entire energy in just a single day. Please don't suffer in silence, just get your blood tested for malaria so you can start the right treatment quickly.

When I had it, I felt so helpless and cried because the joint pain and weakness were unbearable. You feel like you will never get better, but please stay strong. It is a very difficult phase mentally, but it does pass once the doctors start the proper medication.

Bro, I got hit by malaria last monsoon and my body temperature went up to 104 degrees. I was sweating like crazy and vomiting everything I drank. If you have extreme chills and headache, just go to a lab and ask for a malaria blood smear test directly.

Actually, the fever comes in cycles, like it will go away and then return with double force the next day. It is super annoying yaar. Don't wait for it to get better on its own, just consult a physician and get the malaria antigen test done asap.

Haan na, the fever makes you feel so cold that your teeth start chattering. Mere bhai ko bhi hua tha and he was feeling very nauseous too. It is better to check with the family doctor immediately instead of waiting, ho na.

My doctor told me that malaria symptoms usually start 10 to 15 days after the mosquito bite. He emphasized that look for the typical triad of symptoms: sudden chills, followed by high fever, and then profuse sweating as the temperature drops. He advised against taking random painkillers as they can mask the symptoms.

I have been feeling slightly cold and tired since yesterday, but there is no high fever yet. I am a bit scared because there are many mosquitoes in my area right now. Can malaria start with just mild weakness, or does the shivering always happen first?
