How can you find out if you have arthritis?

For the past few months, my knees and fingers have been feeling very stiff, especially in the mornings. Sometimes there's a dull ache too, and it gets worse in cold weather. My mother had arthritis, so I'm a bit worried. What are the first signs or tests to find out if it's actually arthritis?

Don't panic and start searching your symptoms online, it will only scare you. If you have joint pain, stiffness in the morning, or swelling that doesn't go away in a few days, just book an appointment with a rheumatologist. They will guide you through the right steps.

My grandmother was having major knee pain and we thought it was just old age. But when we took her to the clinic, the doctor did an X-ray and some blood tests to confirm it was arthritis. If your joints are clicking or hurting a lot, definitely get it checked out.

I went through a phase where my fingers were aching and I was convinced I had arthritis at age 30. It turned out to be just mild repetitive strain from typing all day on my laptop. Rest assured, not all joint pain is arthritis, but a quick visit to the doc will clear your mind.

I have been living with osteoarthritis for 8 years now. The only real way to know is through a proper medical evaluation, usually involving X-rays and specific blood tests like Rheumatoid Factor or uric acid levels. Don't rely on self-diagnosis, as different joint pains need entirely different treatments.

I was suffering from severe wrist pain and morning stiffness for months thinking it was just a sprain. I finally went to an orthopedist last month, and after some blood work, they diagnosed early rheumatoid arthritis. Getting diagnosed early made starting the medication so much easier for me.
