How can we sleep when our beds are burning?

For the past few nights, I just can't seem to get any proper sleep. My mind keeps racing, and even when I lie down, I feel restless and uncomfortable. It feels like my bed is literally burning with discomfort, making it impossible to relax. What can one do to calm down and fall asleep in such situations?

I used to have this intense burning sensation in my feet and back every night when I lay down to sleep. I realized my mattress was trapping too much heat, so I switched to a pure cotton mattress topper and started washing my feet with cold water before sleeping. It made a huge difference for me.

If you are feeling a burning sensation in your body at night, it could be due to high acidity or body heat from dinner. Try to avoid spicy, oily food at night and drink a cup of cold milk or buttermilk instead. A light, early dinner helps keep the body cool and calm for sleep.

Are we talking about actual night sweats or is this a metaphor for stress and anxiety? If it's work stress keeping you hot and awake, keep your AC on a cool setting, keep your phone in another room, and do some deep breathing. If it's a physical burning feeling, go see a doctor immediately.

I used to feel a burning hot sensation in my hands and feet every night and thought it was just because of Delhi summers. It turned out to be early signs of diabetic neuropathy that I ignored for too long. Please get your blood sugar levels and B12 levels checked by a doctor right away.

In our villages, when the body felt too hot or restless at night, we used to apply a little bit of pure mustard oil or coconut oil on the soles of our feet before bed. You can also try sleeping on a simple cotton sheet instead of synthetic covers. If the heat inside doesn't go away, consult a local physician.

Before you spend a lot of money on expensive cooling gel pillows or air purifiers, just get a basic complete blood count and vitamin profile test done first. Many local labs offer these packages for under 1000 rupees. Often, it's just a simple vitamin deficiency causing these hot sensations.
