How can we control sugar diabetes?

My father was just diagnosed with sugar diabetes, and we are all very worried. The doctor gave some medicines, but we want to know what else we can do at home to help manage his sugar levels. Are there any dietary changes or exercises that are particularly helpful?

Honestly, please don't take this lightly or just depend on WhatsApp tips. I ignored my high sugar levels for years and ended up with severe kidney issues and vision trouble. You absolutely must see an endocrinologist first to get the right dosage of medicines.

Look boss, there is no magic shortcut here. You have to stop eating sweets, reduce your heavy roti intake, and start moving. Go get your HbA1c test done every three months so you know exactly where you stand, and follow your doc's prescription blindly.

My doctor told me that sleeping late and stress is making my sugar spikes worse. But between my office work and late-night binge watching, getting 8 hours feels impossible! I am trying to fix my sleep schedule first because apparently, that itself helps control the numbers a lot.

I used to think that feeling thirsty all the time and being tired was just because of the summer heat. By the time I finally went for a lab test, my random sugar was over 350. Please get your blood tested immediately instead of waiting for symptoms to get worse.

I tried everything from methi seeds soaked in water to karela juice every morning, and honestly, they only help a little bit as add-ons. The main control will only come from portion control, reducing deep-fried items, and taking your regular daily medications as advised by your doctor.

I have been managing type 2 diabetes for five years now, and the biggest game changer was cutting down on direct carbs like white rice and maida. I replaced them with brown rice and ragi, and my fasting levels are much better now. Just be careful with those 'sugar-free' biscuits in the market, they still have flour.

Along with your diet, daily physical activity is super important to improve insulin sensitivity. I walk for 45 minutes every single day right after my dinner and it keeps my morning fasting sugar under control. Just check with your doctor once before starting any heavy workout routine.
