How can tight muscles result in back pain?

I often feel a lot of tightness in my shoulder and lower back muscles, and lately, this has been leading to persistent back pain. Is it common for tight muscles to directly cause back pain? I'm trying to figure out if stretching more might help.

When your back and leg muscles are tight, they pull the spine out of alignment and cause pain. You can apply a warm mustard oil massage or use a hot water bag to relax the stiff muscles at home. However, if you feel any numbness or radiating pain in your legs, skip the home remedies and consult a doctor immediately.

My smartwatch vibrating every hour to tell me to stand up actually saved me from bad back pain. Tight muscles restrict your range of motion, and my fitness app showed how my posture was suffering because of tight hamstrings. Try setting an hourly reminder to stretch, it really works wonders to release muscle tension.

Tight hamstrings and glutes directly pull on your lower back, causing constant soreness. I highly recommend adding 30 minutes of brisk walking to your routine to keep the blood flowing, provided your doctor clears you for it. Simple hamstring stretches after your walk can help release that tightness beautifully.

Our bodies are not meant to sit on these modern soft sofas for hours, which makes the lower back muscles very stiff and painful. Gentle hot fomentation with a pinch of salt in warm water can soothe the tight areas. Just make sure you do not do any heavy bending or lifting when your back is already tight.

Continuous sitting makes muscles stiff, which eventually gives you a bad backache. Before rushing for expensive MRI scans or private physiotherapy sessions which cost a lot, try simple floor stretches and walk daily. Plan your doctor visit first to get a basic checkup done, rather than spending money on random health packages.

Think of your muscles like tight rubber bands; when they don't stretch, they strain the joints they are attached to, leading to backaches. Applying a simple over-the-counter pain relief gel and staying active usually helps. But if the pain is severe or doesn't go away in a few days, please visit a clinic to get it checked.

Honestly, spending hours in front of the laptop without moving is the main culprit behind tight muscles and back pain. I just bought a basic lumbar support cushion for my office chair and started taking a 2-minute walk after every call. It's a very simple and free way to prevent your back from locking up.
