Watching a health program on TV, they were talking about liver health. It made me wonder, how big is the liver normally? Is it different for everyone?

According to the ultrasound specialist I consulted, a normal adult liver is about 15 centimeters in span. It weighs roughly 1.5 kilograms, making it the largest internal organ in the human body. Any size significantly above 16 cm is usually flagged as hepatomegaly, which requires medical evaluation.
Think of it as a whole papaya or a small football sitting inside your upper right abdomen! It weighs about 1.4 kg. It has to be this big to digest all the buttery butter chicken and heavy meals we enjoy!
It is quite big, haan na. Almost like a football and weighs more than one kilo. We don't even realize how such a huge organ is working silently inside our stomach area. Take care of your diet to keep it healthy.
In adults, it is about 14 to 15 cm long, like a small watermelon. When my daughter had some digestion issues, her liver was slightly enlarged, but the pediatrician said kids' livers are much smaller and adapt quickly with a simple oil-free diet.
It's surprisingly large, about the size of a football! ⚽ It weighs around 1.3 to 1.5 kg in an adult. Such a powerhouse organ doing so much work for us daily! Let's keep it happy with lots of water.
