How big is the average liver?
My friend recently had some liver problems, and it got me thinking about my own health. I was just wondering what is considered a normal or average size for a healthy liver in adults.

Did anyone else get terrified after seeing 'mildly enlarged liver' on their ultrasound report? I read that the average liver is about 15 cm, basically the size of a football. I am so scared, did anyone else have this and manage to reverse it with diet?
When my teenager was diagnosed with a slightly enlarged liver, the doctor explained that a normal adult liver is about 14-16 cm. In kids, it is much smaller and grows as they grow. We just cut down on his junk food and outside eating, and his reports became absolutely normal in three months.
The liver is actually the largest internal organ we have, weighing around 1.2 to 1.5 kg in a healthy adult. It sits right on your right side under the ribs and is about the size of a football. Don't worry too much about normal variations, just focus on keeping it healthy with clean eating.
I read it is roughly 3 pounds and spans almost the whole right side of your upper belly. Honestly, even a small pain there makes me think my liver is failing. But my doctor assured me it's very resilient, so try not to panic like I do!
Bro, it's pretty huge, like the size of a rugby ball or a small watermelon! I learned this in bio class last semester. It handles all our bad lifestyle choices, so we gotta be nice to it.
