How big is a 6 mm kidney stone?

The ultrasound showed a 6 mm kidney stone. I'm not sure if that's considered small, medium, or large. Could someone tell me what 6 mm looks like, maybe compared to a grain of rice or something?

I just passed a 6 mm stone last month and let me tell you, it felt much bigger than it actually is. It is roughly the size of a peppercorn. I had to drink almost 4 liters of water daily and take the smooth-muscle relaxants my doctor prescribed to finally get it out.

A 6 mm stone is about the size of a soy bean or a small pea. My teenage son had a similar size last year and it was very painful for him. We had to give him plenty of fluids and pain relief as advised by his doctor, and thankfully it passed on its own in a week.

Please do not ignore a 6 mm stone thinking it is small. I once ignored a similar-sized stone and it ended up blocking my ureter, causing a severe kidney infection. Go to a urologist immediately and get a proper scan done before the pain spikes.

A 6 mm stone is roughly the size of an apple seed. My urologist told me that stones of this size have about a 50% chance of passing naturally with high fluid intake and medical therapy. However, if there is persistent pain or vomiting, medical intervention might be needed.

A 6 mm stone is about the size of a pomegranate seed, but I am so scared of the pain returning. I have been drinking water constantly but it still hurts a bit in my back. Has anyone else felt this constant dull ache even while the stone is passing?

Haan yaar, 6 mm is like a small pepper seed but pain toh bohot solid hota hai iska. Mere padosi ko hua tha toh doc ne bola paani khoob piyo aur medicine se nikal jayega. Doctor se check-up zaroor karva lena, na?

Bro, 6 mm is basically like a small grain of rajma. It sounds tiny but my roommate had one and he was literally rolling on the hostel floor in pain. Just drink a ton of water and get some meds from the doc.

It is about the size of a green pea. When I train, I make sure to stay super hydrated, which is key to avoiding these. Keep your water intake high, limit excess sodium, and definitely check with a doc to see if it can pass naturally.

Haan na, 6 mm stone is like a small chana bean but it can cause so much trouble. Mere cousin ko bhi hua tha and he was crying with back pain. Better to consult a doctor quickly and drink lots of water, ho na.

I am a bit shy to ask, but is a 6 mm stone considered very big? My father was just diagnosed with it and I don't know much about these things. Does it always cause bleeding, or can it pass silently without us noticing?

A 6 mm stone is like a small coriander seed, but it acts like a giant boulder when it gets inside your urinary tract. At my age, you realize even these tiny things can bring you to your knees. Drink your water and let the doctor handle the rest.

I absolutely panicked when my scan showed a 6 mm stone, thinking I would need major surgery. But my doctor reassured me that it is just the size of a small seed and often passes with proper medicines and fluids. Don't worry too much, just follow your doctor's advice.
