How bad is stage 5 prostate cancer?

My grandfather's prostate cancer report mentioned something about 'stage 5,' and we're all very confused and scared. I thought cancer only went up to stage 4. Can anyone explain how serious stage 5 prostate cancer is, and what this implies?

Dealing with advanced cancer is incredibly tough on the patient and the family. But don't lose hope, modern palliative care and treatments can help manage pain and keep them comfortable. Sending you lots of love and strength!

Since cancer staging technically goes up to stage 4, a diagnosis of highly advanced metastatic prostate cancer requires immediate medical consultation. Save time and get a second opinion from a major oncology hospital. Focus entirely on pain management and clinical trials if standard therapies aren't working.

Prostate cancer staging usually only goes up to stage 4, though sometimes people refer to very advanced, resistant stages this way. My elders always say to stay peaceful and eat well, but we must trust our oncologist for advanced chemotherapy or hormone therapies to manage symptoms and prolong life. Please consult a specialist immediately.

This sounds like a very critical and overwhelming situation to be in. I always try to be cautious and supportive with health issues, so I will just urge you to consult an experienced oncologist to understand the exact stage and treatment options. Wishing you a lot of strength.

Please be extremely cautious and work closely with your medical team, as advanced cancer can lead to severe bone pain or urinary blockage. We faced major complications when we delayed consulting a specialist for our relative. Go to a well-equipped hospital with a dedicated palliative and oncology team.
