How bad is psoriatic arthritis?

I've had psoriasis for a while, and lately my joints have started aching quite a bit, especially in my fingers and toes. My doctor mentioned psoriatic arthritis as a possibility. How serious is this condition, and what can I expect?

This condition needs serious attention because it affects both your skin and your joints, which can lead to permanent joint damage if ignored. Please don't just take over-the-counter painkillers to hide the pain. Consult a rheumatologist who can prescribe proper disease-modifying drugs to protect your joints.

When my fingers started swelling up like sausages along with my skin patches, I completely panicked thinking I would get paralyzed. But once my doctor started me on the right treatment, the swelling and pain came down significantly. It takes some time to find the right medicine, but you will surely get relief.

It sounds incredibly painful and frustrating to deal with joint stiffness and skin flares together. I truly hope you find a doctor who listens to you and helps you find the right treatment to ease your pain soon.

Please be very careful and do not delay seeing a specialist. I ignored my joint pain for too long thinking it was just weakness, and now I have permanent stiffness in my right wrist. Go to a rheumatologist immediately to prevent any joint deformity.

I highly recommend going to a reputed hospital with a dedicated rheumatology department. Ask your doctor clearly about the long-term plan, the side effects of the medicines, and how to track your liver and kidney functions during treatment. Don't rely on self-diagnosis.

Haan na, managing joint pain along with skin itching is so exhausting. When the weather changes, the stiffness becomes even worse, ho na. Just make sure to see a proper rheumatologist and don't skip your medicines even for a day.

I agree with everyone saying early treatment is key for this. Swimming or very gentle joint stretches can also help keep the stiffness away in the mornings.
