How bad is kidney stone pain?

Last night I had some terrible pain in my side that just wouldn't go away, and my wife thinks it might be a kidney stone. My uncle had one and said it was worse than childbirth. Is the pain really that intense, or is he exaggerating?

The pain is extremely sharp and can cause nausea too. Since I have thyroid issues and do regular checkups, I always tell people to get an ultrasound done to check the stone size. Proper medical follow-up is very important to see if it needs surgery or can pass with medicine.

Yaar, kidney stone pain is seriously next level, bilkul ro rha tha mera bhai toh. It starts suddenly in the back and goes down to the groin. Lots of water intake helps, but when pain starts, immediately doctor ke paas jana padta hai, na?

Beta, drinking plenty of water and barley water (jau ka pani) helps in flushing out very small stones, but if the pain is severe, it is a sign that the stone is moving or blocked. Please do not depend only on home remedies and visit a clinic.

I had a stone that blocked my urinary tract and caused a severe kidney infection, which became quite complicated. If you have fever, chills, or blood in urine along with the pain, go to the emergency room immediately. Don't wait for it to pass naturally.

I ignored a dull ache in my side for weeks thinking it was just muscle pain, until it exploded into unbearable agony in the middle of the night. Please get an ultrasound done early. Ignorance will only lead to extreme pain later.

It literally feels like a tiny spiky monster is trying to fight its way out of your side. It is painful, yes, but once you get the right painkillers and drink a mini-ocean of water, it usually passes. Just keep your doctor on speed dial!

I get so anxious even reading about how painful kidney stones are, apparently it is comparable to labor pain! Please stay hydrated and get it checked by a doctor before the pain spikes. Sending you lots of positive vibes and strength.
