How bad is fluconazole for your liver?

The doctor prescribed fluconazole for a fungal infection, but my cousin warned me it can be really harsh on the liver. I already have some minor liver enzyme issues. Should I be really concerned about taking this medicine?

Usually, a short course is fine, but high or long doses can affect the liver. Best to ask your doctor.

I always prefer eating simple food and drinking warm water to keep the liver clean naturally. However, if your doctor has prescribed fluconazole, they know best. Just make sure to get a checkup if you feel unusually tired or see yellowing in your eyes.

Hey, don't worry too much. If a doctor prescribed it to you for a few days, it is generally safe and they have weighed the benefits. Just don't take it on your own without a prescription, and keep your doctor updated if you feel nauseous.

For a single dose or a short-term prescription, it usually doesn't cause major liver issues. But if you are taking it long-term, you definitely need liver function tests. Don't self-medicate, let your physician monitor it.

Listen, don't stress too much about this. One or two tablets won't harm your liver, but taking it repeatedly without checking is risky. Just talk to your doc once and relax, they will guide you properly!

Generally, occasional use is perfectly fine for the liver. It's only prolonged, unmonitored use that might raise liver enzymes. If you need it for a longer duration, your doctor will just run a routine blood test to be safe.

While taking any such medication, I always keep my diet very light and home-cooked to not put extra pressure on my liver. Avoid oily foods and processed stuff. Always consult your doctor about the safe duration of the medicine.
