How bad is dry socket pain?

My molar was extracted a couple of days back, and the pain is really bothering me now. A friend mentioned something called 'dry socket' and said it's super painful. Is it really that bad, or am I just being a bit dramatic?

Honestly, dry socket pain can get really intense because the bone is basically exposed. It is not something you can just ignore or treat with random pain killers. Please go back to your dentist as they can put a medicated dressing that gives almost instant relief.

My grandmother used to suggest keeping a clove near the area, but when my cousin had dry socket, only the dentist could help. It is quite a sharp throbbing pain. Do not try too many home remedies for this, just let your doctor treat it properly.

Dry socket pain can honestly ruin your entire week. The most practical thing is to avoid drinking through straws and do very gentle warm salt water rinses, but don't spit with force. Mostly, just run to the clinic because they have a special gel that stops the pain immediately.

Oh god, dry socket is the worst because you can't even dream of eating your favourite foods. It is a super sharp pain that acts up even if cool air touches it. Don't try to chew from that side at all, and just get your dentist to fix it so you can eat normally again!

Beta, I had this back in my 40s after a wisdom tooth extraction and it really tested my patience. It is a very constant ache, but don't worry, it is completely treatable. Go back to your doctor, they will clean it up and you will feel fine in a few days.

I logged this pain on my health tracker once and my sleep quality score dropped to zero that night, it is that bad. It radiates up to your ear and temple. Don't wait it out, just schedule a quick visit to your dentist to get it dressed.
