How bad is diabetes?

My mother has had diabetes for many years, and I've always seen her manage her diet and meds very carefully. I recently got a borderline sugar report, and I'm a bit scared, to be honest. How serious is diabetes actually, and what are its general implications on health?

It can be very dangerous if you try to treat it with random herbal powders sold on YouTube. Left uncontrolled, it silent-kills your kidneys and heart. Verify everything with an endocrinologist and stick to standard medical treatments.

Diabetes is only as bad as you let it be. If you manage your diet, walk 30 minutes daily, and take your medicines on time, you can lead a 100% normal and productive life. Get your HbA1c checked every three months.

Just like managing my thyroid, diabetes requires constant monitoring and regular blood tests. It only gets bad if you ignore it for years. Work closely with a specialist doctor and keep your reports updated.

Oh God, diabetes makes me so anxious because it can affect your eyes and kidneys if it gets too high! Please don't worry, just get your sugar checked regularly and follow your doctor's advice to keep it under control.

It can be quite serious if ignored, but with proper medication and lifestyle changes, it is completely manageable.
