How bad is chemo for lung cancer?

My father has lung cancer and is starting chemotherapy next week. We're all very concerned about the side effects and how difficult the treatment will be for him. How bad is chemo for lung cancer patients in terms of their overall experience?

I totally get it, the thought of chemotherapy for lung cancer can be incredibly frightening. The side effects like fatigue and nausea are tough, but doctors have excellent supportive medications today to help manage them.

I just completed my chemotherapy cycles a few months ago. Honestly, the first few days after each session are exhausting and your taste buds go totally numb, but the doctors can adjust the dosage to make it more tolerable. Stay strong.

Do not worry too much, sister. My uncle had chemotherapy for his lungs and although he became very weak and lost his hair, he completed the treatment and is now feeling much better. God will give you strength.

I am so worried about the extreme nausea and hair loss that comes with lung cancer chemo. Did anyone else feel terrified before their first cycle? How did you manage to stay calm during the sessions?

Bro, my grandfather went through chemo for lung cancer. It is definitely hard on the body and makes them super tired, but keeping a positive environment at home and eating small, frequent meals really helped him cope.

Chemo is no walk in the park, it makes you feel like a flat tire for a few days! But you just have to rest, let others pamper you, and watch your favorite comedy shows. It gets manageable once you know the pattern.
