How bad is basal cell skin cancer?

My neighbour recently got diagnosed with basal cell skin cancer after a small spot on her face grew. I'm a bit concerned now as I spend a lot of time in the sun for my gardening. Is this type of skin cancer usually very serious or manageable?

Basal cell carcinoma is generally the least dangerous type of skin cancer because it grows very slowly and rarely spreads to other parts of the body. However, it still needs proper surgical removal by an experienced dermatologist to prevent damage to surrounding tissues.

I agree, it is highly curable and manageable if caught early. Just consult a dermatologist and get it treated promptly.

I totally get it, hearing the word 'cancer' can be incredibly scary and overwhelming. But please breathe easy, as basal cell is very slow-growing and has an extremely high cure rate when treated by a professional doctor.

It is highly treatable with simple minor surgery. Once the dermatologist removes it and gives you the go-ahead, you can easily resume your gym workouts and daily running, just make sure to wear good sunscreen outdoors.

Look, don't panic. It is skin cancer but it's the most common and least aggressive kind. Just get it removed by a good surgeon as soon as possible and don't delay the treatment.
