How bad does a heart attack hurt?

My father had a heart attack a few years ago, and he never really talked about the pain. I keep wondering what it actually feels like and how severe it is. Is it always a crushing chest pain like in the movies, or different for everyone?

I ignored a heavy, squeezing feeling in my chest thinking it was just acidity, and it ended up being a major blockage. Never ignore any chest pain, pressure, or numbness in the left arm. Go to a hospital emergency room immediately.

It's definitely not something you can just ignore with a 'chalta hai' attitude! People describe it like an elephant sitting on their chest, so if you are feeling that, please put down your phone and head to the hospital right now.

My elders always said to keep cold water and relax, but during any chest discomfort, we must act fast. A heart attack is a severe medical emergency that requires immediate hospital intervention. Please get to a clinic without any delay.

For diabetics, sometimes a heart attack doesn't hurt much at all due to neuropathy—it is called a silent attack. If you feel sudden unexplained sweating, weakness, or breathlessness, please get an ECG done immediately at a clinic.

My father had a cardiac event, and the crushing chest pain was accompanied by pain in the jaw and neck. We rushed him to a cardiac care hospital immediately. You must consult a cardiologist for proper guidance and checkups.

May God keep everyone safe. If someone is experiencing severe chest heaviness, breathing difficulty, and sweating, please stay very calm, sit down, and call for emergency medical help immediately. Do not panic, just seek doctor's help.

In any such situation, keeping a sorbitan or aspirin tablet nearby as per general emergency guidelines is practical, but rushing to the nearest hospital is the only real solution. Don't wait for family members to arrive, take an auto or ambulance.
