How are you supposed to sleep?

Lately, I'm finding it really hard to get a good night's rest. I keep waking up or just feel restless throughout the night. Is there a proper posture or routine one should follow for sleeping well, doc?

I used to panic so much thinking my sleeping posture was giving me heart palpitations or neck pain. Then my doctor told me it's totally normal to shift positions during the night. Just sleep on your side comfortably and relax, your body knows how to handle itself.

I completely understand how stressful it is when you can't sleep right and start overthinking every little body ache. I used to spend hours searching for the 'perfect' posture. Honestly, trying to sleep on your left side helps digestion and calms down the heart rate, which really helped my bedtime anxiety.

Yes, sleeping on your side with a small pillow between your knees works wonders for spinal alignment.

Wait, you guys are actually sleeping? I usually just stare at my ceiling till 4 AM planning what to do in a zombie apocalypse. But jokes aside, my doc told me sleeping on the stomach is the worst for your neck, so avoid that at all costs.

I used to wake up with bad back pain because of my cheap mattress. Switched to a medium-firm one and started sleeping on my back with a pillow under my knees. It felt weird for a week but now my back feels absolutely fine.

Since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, my doctor emphasized getting 7-8 hours of sound sleep. Sleeping on the left side is highly recommended as it improves blood circulation. Make sure you get your BP checked too if you are regularly facing sleep issues.

Hey, don't worry. Sleeping shouldn't feel like a chore or a math problem. Just find a comfortable side-lying position, dim the lights an hour before bed, and keep your phone away. If you still feel uncomfortable, we can always consult a specialist together, okay?

Please don't ignore it if you are consistently struggling to sleep or waking up gasping for air. I ignored my heavy snoring and fatigue for years until it turned out to be severe sleep apnea. Get a proper sleep study done before it affects your heart.

Sleeping is the time for your body to heal and rest. Just lie down peacefully, take a few deep breaths, and let go of all the day's worries. Sleeping on your right or left side calmly with a positive mind will bring you deep, restorative rest.

Sleeping on your left side is super awesome for digestion! Also, try using a sleep mask to block out light, it worked like magic for me. Sweet dreams! 🌟
