How accurate is thermography for breast cancer?

My sister recently underwent thermography for breast cancer screening, and it made me wonder about its effectiveness. I'm always looking for less invasive options. How accurate is thermography generally considered for detecting breast cancer compared to mammograms?

Let's be very clear about this: thermography is not highly accurate and is absolutely not a replacement for a mammogram. Major health organizations do not recommend it as a standalone screening tool because it has a high rate of missing early tumors. Stick to standard mammography.

While thermography uses heat patterns and is non-invasive, it is not considered reliable enough for cancer screening on its own. If you feel any lump or change, please see an oncologist immediately for a proper mammogram or ultrasound. Natural wellness is good for overall health, but not for diagnosing serious issues.

Honestly, don't waste your money on thermography clinics. The most practical and proven way is to get a mammogram done at any standard, certified hospital. It is widely available, covered by insurance, and actually trusted by all doctors.

Beta, in our days we didn't have these heat-sensing tests, we trusted regular self-examinations and experienced doctors. Thermography might sound easy because there is no pain, but please listen to your doctor and get a real mammogram done for safety. Take warm milk with turmeric for strength, but trust the main medical tests.

I completely agree with everyone here. The FDA has actually issued warnings that thermography should not be used as an alternative to mammography.

Just like how I must get standard blood thyroid panels rather than alternative tests, breast health requires proven methods. Thermography has too many false results. You should follow up with a gynecologist for a proper clinical exam and a mammogram.

Having dealt with breast health scares in my family, I can confidently tell you that thermography is highly inaccurate and often leads to a false sense of security. Always get a mammogram and a breast ultrasound. Do regular self-exams every month after your cycle.

Every day there is some new high-tech screening trend on the internet, but thermography is mostly hype. My doctor told me it's about as useful as a weather app for diagnosing a cold. Stick to what actually works, which is a proper clinical mammogram.

Haan, maine bhi suna hai ki thermography utna reliable nahi hota na. Doctors isko diagnose karne ke liye bilkul use nahi karte. Mammogram ya ultrasound hi sabse pakka tarika hai, toh fuzool ke tests mein mat pado.

Thermography isn't highly accurate and doctors really don't rely on it for breast screening. Don't stress too much over these trendy tests; instead, schedule a regular mammogram and then treat yourself to some hot jalebis to cheer up!
